Crystal adds Heavenly to ski programme

The MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa in the ski area of Heavenly
Crystal Ski Holidays has reinstated the resort of Heavenly in North America to its 2017-18 programme.
Heavenly is one of the largest ski areas in the USA, with 4,800 acres of terrain, all at well over 2,000m. The resort sits on the stateline between California and Nevada and offers a unique chance to ski two US states in one day — along with two unique vistas: Nevada’s ‘desert’ on one side and views of Lake Tahoe in California on the other.
California has been enjoying a phenomenal, record-breaking season for snow and Heavenly offers a great mix of intermediate cruising and serious challenges for experts — as well as fantastic tree skiing, great when there is powder.
The main town of South Lake Tahoe has a lively, casino atmosphere and its economy is based on gambling — which is permitted in Nevada. Crystal is offering a mix of three-star hotels located in the town and in Heavenly Village, a small, purpose-built area around the main lift based. There are a number of other resorts around the lake that are linked to Heavenly by bus, some of them free of charge with a valid lift pass.
Heavenly was last featured in Crystal’s programme for the 2013/14 season, but as flight prices rose, demand dropped.
“Now we have some good hotels under contract and over the past winter we recorded a double digit percentage increase of skiers traveling to North America, so we decided to offer it again for our loyal following,” said Crystal spokesman Marion Telsnig.

Available to book from Crystal from now for next season the three 3* hotels are the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel and MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa. All three hotels have different characters and within less than a ten-minute walk from the Heavenly Gondola.
Crystal’s purchasing manager Michael Brabin commented “Heavenly is an intermediate and advanced skier’s playground, with tree cut runs, bowls and bumps for all abilities – including some freeride terrain. Its views are spectacular, where else can you start a run looking over a beautiful Californian lake and end with the Nevada Desert as your backdrop? And thanks to the Nevada Casino’s you have great après and 24hr bars. What’s not to like?”
Prices start at £1254 per person for a week’s stay at the 3* Hard Hotel & Casino based on two sharing and including transfers and United Airlines flights from London Heathrow via San Francisco to Reno departing 10 January 2018.
