Crystal adds new Italian ski resort for 2019/20

Crystal is offering the ski resort of Drei Zinnen in the Italian Dolomites this winter
Crystal Ski Holidays is adding a new ski resort in the Italian Dolomites to its programme for next winter. Drei Zinnen — which means ‘Three Peaks’ in German is in the east of South Tyrol, on the border between Italy and Austria. The resort is made up of a handful of small villages, which together have a combined ski area of 110km of pistes over five mountains.
Drei Zinnen, also known in Italian as the “Tre Cime di Lavaredo”, is situated in a high valley in the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage park and both German and Italian are spoken in the region. The ski resort is popular with families with its range of quality hotels. Crystal Ski Holidays will be offering four this winter — all four-star properties — with flights from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London Gatwick and Manchester airports to Verona in Italy.
The area has five main resort villages, known by both Italian and German names: Sesto (Sexten), San Candido (Innichen), Dobbiaco (Toblach), Villabassa (Niederdorf) and Braies (Prags). Most of crystal’s accommodation is in San Candido. They are all linked by a ski buss, and the entire region is also part of the huge Dolomiti Superski pass, which has 1200km of pistes and is renowned for its snowmaking.
Drei Zinnen is also one of Italy’s leading cross country ski destinations with 200km of groomed tracks.
Chris Logan, Managing Director at Crystal Ski Holidays said: “Our winter 2019/20 ski holidays are now on sale and we are already counting down the days to the slopes reopening. We have already announced new flight routes, new childcare clubs, a new resort and a revamped chalet product, so we are really looking forward to next season.”
A week’s half board at the four-star SportHotel Tyrol costs from £774 per person when booked online (based on two sharing) including flights from Gatwick to Verona and transfers (price given is for departure on 4 January 2019). Direct flights available from all major UK airports. Visit crystalski.co.uk
