Crystal Ski Holidays have added another new resort to its programme for the coming winter — Hopfgarten in Austria.

A traditional Austrian mountain village with old houses huddled around a twin-towered church, Hopfgarten is part of SkiWelt area which offers 286km of skiing, linking with the popular ski resorts of Söll, Ellmau and Scheffau. It will be the fifth resort in the ski area provided by Crystal, and offers more than just skiing — with horse-drawn carriage rides, cross-country skiing, snow tubing, winter walking and tobogganing available as well.

While the SkiWelt area is big, you can also ski Kitzbühel as well (just a two-minute bus ride from the far end of the Westendorf slopes) if you have an Allstar/Super Ski pass.

Hopfgarten is easily accessible to UK skiers, just over an hour’s transfer from Innsbruck and only an hour and a half from Salzburg — with flights available from Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, London Gatwick and Manchester airports.

Crystal Ski Holidays will offer two four-star hotels this winter — the Sporthotel Hohe Salve, which has a huge outdoor pool, sun terrace, sauna, spa and gym. It is part of the Finest range and close to the resort centre — and prices will start at £1250. Crystal will also offer the Familotel, perfect for families offering half board for adults and full board, all-inclusive for children, prices start at £1671 per person.
