Crystal Ski Holidays has launched a new flight from Yorkshire to the French Alps. The flight from Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DSA) to Chambéry Savoie Mont Blanc Airport for this winter coincides with the news that Crystal will, from this winter, begin selling flights separately from their package holidays.

The new winter route from Doncaster to Chambéry in the Rhone-Alps region in France will offer Yorkshire’s skiers easy access to some 17 ski areas in the Savoie Mont Blanc region including Courchevel, Val d’Isère, Méribel and Val Thorens which are just over 60 miles away from the airport. The once-a-week flights will start on Saturday 23 December.

Steve Gill, Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s chief executive, said: “This is great news for skiers from across the region. We are delighted to be growing our winter ski offering and provide passengers with more choice for skiing routes to popular destinations. Given how close it is to Mont Blanc, Chambéry offers Yorkshire winter sports enthusiasts’ easy access to some of the finest slopes and facilities the world has to offer.”

Crystal Ski Holidays now has a separate booking section on its websites for flights, and skiers and snowboarders can fly from Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Doncaster, Edinburgh, East Midlands, Exeter, Gatwick, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle and Stansted to Chambéry, Lyon and Toulouse in France, Geneva (France/Switzerland), Innsbruck and Saltzburg in Austria, Kuusamo and Kitilla in Finland, Fagernes in Norway and Turin and Verona in Italy.
