Crystal Ski Holidays has added the resort of Hochsölden in the Austrian Tirol for the coming ski season.

Hochsölden is a small satellite resort situated above Sölden, with which it shares a 145km ski area. Described in Where to Ski and Snowboard 2016 as offering “splendid traffic-free isolation up the mountain”, every hotel in the village is ski-in, ski-out. Crystal will be working with four different accommodation options in Hochsölden, ranging from the no-frills, two-star guesthouse Pension Ferdinand to the four-star Hotel Edelweiss.

While Hochsölden itself is quiet, if you fancy some throbbing après-ski — for which Sölden is famed — a shuttle bus runs between the two several times a day, catch a taxi journey costs around €20.

The ski area, between 1350m and 3250m, has something to offer everyone, and for an extra €10 skiers can purchase the option to spend a day in nearby Obergurgl.

Prices start at £565 per person (based on two sharing) for a week’s bed and breakfast at the Pension Ferdinand in Hochsölden, Austria, departing 7 or 14 January 2017 from Gatwick, including airport transfers.

In March, Crystal Ski announced it was adding Sun Peaks in Canada to the 2016/17 season. Read more here.
