The "Fondue in the Sky" event takes place in Villars on 25 February

On the last Saturday of February, the Swiss ski resort of Villars will offer guests the chance to eat a fondue in one of its gondolas.

The “Fondue in the Sky” event, on Saturday 25 February, will take place in the Roc d’Orsay Telecabines. The 60 cabins will be set up for groups of six to enjoy a three-course meal, sunset and 1hr 45 minutes telecabine ride among the mountains with views of Mont Blanc, the Muverans Chains with their famous Dents du Midi and overlooking Villars and the Rhône Valley.

Diners will check in for a welcome drink at 18:30, before stepping into the cabins for two full rotations at slow speed, while enjoying a very Swiss meal of charcuterie platter, fondue, and desert, washed down with kirsch and wine. There’s also a special surprise gift for diners!

Tickets cost CHF85 (£68) per person (child tickets for under 16s; CHF70), diners will feast on charcuterie, fondue and dessert and quaff kirsch and white wine as they go.
