With demand rising for adventures in home-grown mountains, outdoor retailer Ellis Brigham has come up with a brilliant way of helping skiers and snowboarders in Scotland reach local slopes.

The new Ellis Brigham Mountain Shuttle is helping skiers travel between Glasgow and the Scottish ski areas of Glencoe and Glenshee each weekend between now and the end of the season.

Setting off from the Ellis Brigham store at XSITE Braehead, just four miles from Glasgow international airport, the shuttle will transfer passengers to Glencoe and Glenshee on Saturdays and Sundays until the end of the season — weather permitting.

A return journey costs just £25, and the shuttle will drop skiers and snowboarders right by the lifts. Freshly serviced skis and snowboards can also be pre-booked, for £25 per day, and the XSITE Braehead store will be open from 6am each weekend for any last-minute needs.

The idea is that skiers and boarders can fly to Glasgow International on a Friday, overnight at the Travelodge at XSITE, pick up rental equipment from 6am, board the coach at 7am. After enjoying a day on the slopes, they can jump on the shuttle to leave around 5pm, toast the days’ turns in one of the many eating, drinking venues back at XSITE. Sleep. Repeat.
