Eco option: a trip on the Eurostar for your ski holiday emits 80% less carbon than flying

If you’re planning to travel by train to ski in the French Alps this coming winter, get ready to buy your tickets tomorrow morning, when the direct Eurostar Ski Train goes on sale.

The tickets for both daytime and overnight trips, beginning 20 December and finishing 11 April, go on sale at 8am on Wednesday 17 July 2019. Fares start from £80 each way and will be available from eurostar.com or call 03431 186186,

There will be daytime trains leaving every Saturday morning from 21 December 2019 from London St Pancras, returns beginning Saturday 28 December. The service stops on 4 April 2020 (outbound) and 11 April (return).

The overnight Eurostar Ski Train service begins on Friday 20 December 2019, with the first overnight return on Saturday 28 December. The last overnight outbound train to Bourg-St-Maurice is Friday 3 April, with the final return journey scheduled for Saturday 11 April 2020.

Eurostar is running and extra night-time service to the Alps for half term on Saturday 16 February, returning to the UK during the day on Sunday 23 February.
