Take the ferry to France ... [LD Lines]
A ferry company LD lines is running a bargain offer on their services to France this winter.
If you are thinking about a self-drive trip to the Alps, LD lines is selling return Channel crossings from £45 for a car and up to nine passengers when you book direct on their website.
We checked out Dover-Boulogne crossing for a car and five passengers for 10-days next January, and the total price was £55. Marvellous.
LD lines operates routes from Dover to Boulogne (the special deal above), Portsmouth to Le Harve – with a special winter offer from £49 for a five day return and Newhaven to Dieppe from £39 return. And from Boulogne, you could be in your French resort eight hours later. The journey is mostly motorway and you can even reach the more southerly resorts of Serre Chevalier and Alpe d’Huez in ten hours or so.
Could be a good cost saving alternative to flying to the French Alps this season…
