The first Winter Olympic test events will be held this week in South Korea, two years ahead of PyeongChang 2018.

The men’s Audi FIS Ski World Cup events will take place in Jeongseon over the weekend, giving skiers a first glimpse of the Olympic course.

The men will race a downhill and super-G on 6-7 February with two downhill training runs, and today racers were freeskiing in PyeongChang ahead of the event.

“I guess you never get a second chance to make a first impression. And PyeongChang just aced it. This will be a fantastic venue,” said Norwegian skier Kjetil Jansrud.

“Perfect man-made snow, clear skies, and cold temps! This is going to be fun!” said American skier Travis Ganong.

From 19-21 February it will be the turn of the freestylers, with mens and women’s freestyle and snowboard slopestyle World Cup events at the newly constructed Bokwang Park. The ski- and snowboard-cross races will follow from 25-28 February at the same venue.
