British Airways will fly twice weekly to Friedrichshafen and Grenoble over the ski season

A host of new flight routes will be operating from all over the UK to the Alps, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia this winter.

British Airways will fly twice a week from Gatwick to Friedrichshafen in Germany and Grenoble in France, SWISS has tripled the number of flights from Gatwick to Geneva and will run up to seven during the ski season while Flybe, easyJet and Tui have increased the number of regional flights to airports from Munich, Plovdiv and Chambery.

BA is operating two flights to Friedrichshafen, early on Saturday (7.20am) and Sunday (8.25am) mornings, giving 1.5 hour transfer times to Austrian resorts such as Lech, Zürs and St Anton. BA’s service to Grenoble leaves Gatwick at 9.35am on Saturdays and 8.25am on Sundays giving quick transfer times to Alpe d’Huez and Les Deux-Alps, among others.  Prices start from £57.79 one way, including hold luggage.

SWISS is running up to seven flights a week from Gatwick Geneva, after opening the route with two flights last season.

EasyJet will fly up to four times a week from London Luton to Munich from 3 November, and up to six times a week from Luton to Basel, with prices starting at £29.99 per person (one way). The airline will also fly once a week from Aberdeen to Geneva, starting 13 December, with prices starting from £35.99pp.

Flybe is opening a route from Cardiff to Geneva every Saturday from 20 December to 11 April, leave 11.40am, with one-way fares from £39.99. Flybe is also starting a Saturday service from Inverness to Geneva, leaving 12 noon, with one-way fares from £49.99.

Finally, Tui – owner of Thomson and Crystal Ski — will this winter fly each Saturday from Bristol to Innsbruck for Austrian resorts; Gatwick to Plovdiv for Bulgaria; Southampton to Chambery for France; Bournemouth and Cardiff to Geneva for France and Switzerland. On Sundays Tui will operate from Edinburgh to Toulouse for Andorra and Manchester to Kuusamo for Finland.
