French self-catering specialist Ski Collection has announced new residences for its winter 2011/12 programme.

The company is adding four new options in four big French resorts; all are 4-star smart apartment developments, newly-built and most with access to a pool and sauna.

Of most interest to families looking for a Christmas or half-term break could be the development of Avoriaz this winter – expected to open two new districts (Crozats and Amara), indoor water park and new gondola. Ski Collection is introducing the luxury L’Amara apartments, part of a new five-building development near Falaise and the new L’Amara Spa (big pool, saunas, treatment areas, fitness centre and creche).

Christmas 2011: A two-bedroom apartment in the Avara starts at £513pp based on six sharing and a self-drive package – departing 24 December.
In Tignes, the new MGM Le Jhana lodging is being offered in Val Claret. Again convenient for the slopes and with two-bedroom apartments starting from £345pp for New Year – departures on a self-drive package from 31 December.

An early season break to Val Thorens is usually a good bet for reliable snow, and you can now choose to stay in the 4-star Montana Plein Sud, also new for this winter. Travel after the festive period and prices fall to £296pp for a two-bedroom apartment (based on four sharing) – departs 7 January.

The fourth new option from Ski Collection is Alpe-d’Huez, another fairly high altitude choice with a glacier and excellent beginner slopes. Le Cristal de L’Alpe MGM apartments will feature one, two or three-bedroom studios; they are also new for 2011/12 and built in traditional style. Ski Collection is currently offering an Easter price from £290pp based on five sharing and a self-drive package at the end of March 2012.
