FWT launched for under-14s

The Freeride World Tour has introduced an under-14 age category for young riders
The Freeride World Tour has introduced an under-14 age category for young skiers and snowboarders who have been keen to compete on the world circuit from a young age.
The new age group for junior skiers and snowboarders will be in place in New Zealand this summer, and although national champions will be crowned in each country in the under-14 category, no tour champions will be crowned this year.
Now that the southern hemisphere ski season is well and truly underway, the 2018 Freeride World Qualifier and Freeride Junior Tours are under way, with skiers and snowboarders gearing up for the start of the competition season in New Zealand and South America. There is an event in Montana, USA in June, followed by four events in South America (three in Chile and one in Argentina) in August and The North Face Frontier 4* in New Zealand in September.
There are already more than 300 registered riders in the new under-14 age category — all of whom are required to be accompanied by an adult at all times during events.
