French apartments going cheaper

La Plagne has great views to the Mont Blanc range
Lagrange holidays is offering a limited discount of 15% on a range of ski apartments in three top French resorts this winter, and that includes the February half term week.
Serre Chevalier, La Plagne and Les Arcs are singled out in the latest deal, available until the end of November. Families or groups wanting an apartment in one of those resorts can now benefit from a 15% discount (approx) on their booking. And it applies to any week of the season.
With prices in French resorts still high and the half term week normally expensive, every saving helps families trying to get away then. What’s more, prices are already lower than last winter because the British half term does not coincide with the main French one this time.
Lagrange has a one bedroom alcove apartment at the ski-in/ski-out residence the Roc Belle Race in Arc 1600 now priced at £1420 per apartment on 11 February, reduced from £1665. Or try a two bedroom apartment at the Hameau du Rocher Blanc in Serre Chevalier, which is now £1577, reduced from £1850.
So why these particular three resorts? Well, all of them enjoy a long season, extensive slopes and sufficient choice of base accommodation. Serre Chevalier, in particular, is also a relatively unknown resort on the British market, yet one of France’s major areas. While not the cheapest in the country, the resort does make it into our top 47 list of the best value places in our Resort Price Survey – which this year includes costings for passes, tuition and rental.
The 15% off deal also applies to Easter, so you can plan a late break to a snow-sure resort. Some offers are for the lower villages, but lift links get you to the higher slopes. A one bedroom alcove apartment at L’Arollaie in Peisey Vallandry is £863, reduced from £1010 on 31 March or 7 April 2012. Alternatively, stay higher in the Residence Aspen in Plagne Villages; a two bedroom apartment here is £859, reduced from £1005.
Prices for the quieter weeks in January and March start at £319 for a week in Champagny-en-Vanoise.
