France’s Three Valleys will host its annual X-Wing Rally event next month, a fun-filled April activity day open to all.

The fun starts on Easter Monday 5 April, and is open to anyone who fancies a go at one of the many activities, some of which are new this season. You play in teams of three, and can take part in as many or as few of the categories as you wish – although the idea is that you try them all! There are no boundaries on age or ability level, so no excuse not to have a go. And you could win yourself one of the super prizes on offer.

The X-Wing is regarded as the biggest amateur ski event in the world, with a varied choice of races. All teams must have three members, which can be parent/child mixed too. The idea is that you explore the whole Three Valley ski area whilst moving around the events. Each race is timed, with points awarded at the end of each round.

Categories include a Slalom XXL, Speed skiing, Freeride, Big Air Bag, Triple Boardercross and a Derby. New this year will be the Family Pros, a category restricted to ski workers and those living in the resorts – teams for which must be one adult with two children.

The action kicks off at 9am from your chosen departure resort (not La Tania or Mottaret), with a buffet lunch laid on for everyone in Méribel between 11am and 3pm. You’ll need to register for the event, pay a small fee and have a valid area lift pass. And you will also be required to wear a helmet and ski back protection, as well as bring your own (or rented) equipment and ski insurance.

What are you waiting for ...
