Stops in Japan and Canada have been added to the Freeride World Tour (FWT) in a completely revamped competition schedule for the coming winter.
The tour begins in Hakuba, Japan (27-28 January), taking in Kicking Horse in Canada (3-9 February), Vallnord-Arcalis in Andorra (1-7 March) followed by Fieberbrunn in Austria (9-15 March) finishing in Verbier, Switzerland with a grand finale from 31 March to 8 April.
It is the first time that the epic freeride destination of Japan has been added to the tour, and Alaska has gone from the schedule. All riders — 45 in the four categories of ski men, ski women, snowboard men and snowboard women — will face a round of qualification cuts after the fourth stop in Fieberbrunn.
