GB team to compete in Formigal

Formigal, Spain
Four members of the British ski racing team will be in Formigal, Spain from 13 to 18 March, competing in the FIS Alpine Ski European Cup.
Ed Drake (hopefully) and Noel Baxter, along with D Ryding and TJ Balwin will be among the teams from 14 countries to race at the Spanish resort.
Drake is lined-up for the event, although is making a comeback from injury that saw him miss the Garmisch World Championships last month – where he suffered an ankle ligament tear suffered in the first round of Super G. He has been out of action ever since but hopes to be back on the slopes with a view to defending his British title in Méribel too on 27 March.
Formigal’s eight days of competition are expected to bring over 800 athletes to the ski area, as well as many more spectators.
And as the Spanish enjoy a good fiesta, Formigal will also be cranking up the entertainment during the contest. Concerts, competitions, music and light shows are among the events planned; so it should be a jolly good atmosphere.
