Glencoe ski area in Scotland is planning a Midsummers Day ski this Sunday, 21 June in celebration of the Summer Solstice.

There’s still plenty of spring skiing to be had in the Lochaber area of the Scottish Highlands, with Flypaper Bowl, Spring Run and Main Basin still covered with snow and the Canyon, Wall and Thrombosis still skiable mid-mountain.

Midsummer is on 24 June, the longest day of the year, and on Sunday Glencoe will be celebrating by opening Cliffhanger chair in the top of the ski area for a short time from 10am. The runs won’t be groomed, but locals are excited to get in a midsummer slide. The Access chairlift is open daily for sightseeing and ski and snowboard touring.

The morning will be free for season tickets holders, £10 for everyone else.

If you’ve already hung up your skis, Glencoe’s red and black bike tracks are now open for the season. Day passes £25 for adults and £20 for juniors. After the midsummer ski, Glencoe’s dry ski slope opens on the 22 June, offering tubing at just £5 per hour.
