Ischgl is maintaining its tradition and lining up another top level gig to start the 2010/11 winter season.

Indie rock band Gossip is set to energise the Ischgl slopes, with a fabulous concert lined up 27 November - the day after the resort officially opens for the winter season. Crowds of up 20,000 people regularly attend the event, held at an open-air stadium in the resort.

‘Gossip will provide a brilliant start to the new season,” said the Tourist Director for Paznaun-Ischgl Andreas Steibl. ‘We have many treats in store for skiers and boarders this season and this is just the first.’

Gossip will be in concert at dusk on Saturday 27 November. Beth Ditto, the band’s powerful front lady, will get fans going with hits including Heavy Cross, Love Long Distance and Standing in the Way of Control, with the distinctive Indie rock beat played out by band members Nathan Howdeshell and Hannah Blilie.

Entry is by valid lift pass – a one-day pass is 55 euro. Special season opening packages are available via the resort’s website. Three nights’ accommodation and breakfast, including a three day lift pass and entry to the concert starts at 183 euro.

Don’t forget, Ischgl has been busy investing in on-slope matters as well as the entertainment too: two new chairlifts are coming this winter – the first is the Lange Wand chairlift, a swanky six-person heated chairlift with weather hoods that serving Ischgl’s high point on the Greitspitz. The second is a replacement of the Muller-Bahn on the Samnaun (Swiss) side with a six-person covered chairlift.
