Hanging bridge a world first for Gstaad

The “Peak Walk by Tissot” is the first suspension bridge between two mountain peaks
The first hanging bridge in the world to connect two mountain peaks has opened in the Swiss ski resort of Gstaad.
The “Peak Walk by Tissot” suspension bridge at Glacier 3000 cost in the region of CHF1.8million (about £1.176m) opened last Friday, 24 October and will be free for visitors all year round.
The 107-metre hanging bridge stretches between View Point and Scex Rouge peaks on the 3,000m-high glacier. On a clear day, the bridge will offer views for 24 summits in the Bernese Oberland and wider Alps including Mont Blanc and the Matterhorn.
Gstaad’s winter season began officially on Saturday, 25 October, when Glacier 3000 opened its 25km of runs and upgraded snowpark with added rail and line jumps and Big Air for skiers and boarders.
