For the cheapest ski holiday this year you must head to Bansko according to The Post Office. A six-day ski pass with ski and boot hire for one person, a week of ski school and lunch on the slopes with a drinks will set you back £273.81, according to the Post Office’s 2013 Ski Resort Report.

The next-cheapest resort on the list is Kranjska Gora in Slovenia, where the same package will set you back £325.54 and then the duty-free ski resort Livigno in Italy, where you can expect to pay £350.73.

The annual report is published this December in conjunction with Crystal Ski Holiday for the seventh time and covers costs in 30 different ski resorts, 22 in Europe and eight in North America.

But it’s not just Eastern European ski resorts featured in the report — Italian and Austrian destinations feature too, including Cervinia, Mayrhofen, Selva and Schladming. Morzine in France comes in at number five, overtaking Ruka (Finland) and the duty-free resort of Soldeu (Austria), followed by Serre Chevalier. Don’t go to Courchevel for a bargain, however, as prices have increased by 13 per cent, and surprising Les Deux Alpes has also become more expensive, by around nine per cent.

Saas-Fee is the first entry for Switzerland, at 17, thought the report makes special mention of lower prices in Zermatt where prices have plunged by almost 13 per cent since last winter.

The number of resorts in the USA and Canada in the report has also increased this year, with the Post Office reporting that prices are down by around 20 per cent in Tremblant, Canada, and Winter Park, USA. IN the latter, a six-day ski pass with ski and boot hire for one person, a week of ski school and lunch on the slopes with a drinks will set you back £527.75.
