Heavenly launches mobile ‘DJ cat’

The Lake Tahoe ski resort of Heavenly launches its mobile DJ cat

The Lake Tahoe ski resort of Heavenly has unveiled a new kind of après-ski party, with its mobile DJ cat.

The retired grooming cat, unveiled on 27 December, has been fitted with enough speakers to equip a nightclub. The mobile DJ station has turntables, 15,000 watts of power, 48 speakers, 55in flatscreen TV and 4 heart-thumping Kicker subwoofers ready to roam the mountain.

Heavenly sits above Lake Tahoe on the California/Nevada border, and owned by Vail Resorts. It has partnered with Aaron Hagar, son of musician Sammy Hagar and owner of Rat Runners Garage, on the mobile DJ station.

“There is a reason we’ve been dubbed as the wild child of Vail Resorts. At Heavenly, we like to push the limits and do things a little different,” said Pete Sonntag of Heavenly.

“Teaming up with someone as creative as Aaron was a special treat, and we are absolutely blown away by what we were able to accomplish together between our teams. The end result will definitely surprise and delight people.”

Heavenlyplans for the cat to roam the mountain, stopping at the likes of Tamarack Lodge, East Peak or Sky Meadows to crank out the tunes. Its pop-up party location will be tweeted from @skiheavenly.
