Inghams has launched Covid-19 online hub ahead of strong ski season

Inghams is the latest ski operator to report extremely strong sales for winter 2021-22, as it launches a new Covid-19 online hub to help guests navigate myriad ever-changing covid rules before and during their holidays.

The Covid hub, which went live this week, is an interactive resource providing a resort-by-resort information on the rules and restrictions in place at the destinations in which Inghams operates. The hub has up-to-date information on requirements for entry to the countries within the Inghams portfolio, along with everything from the certification needed to buy a lift pass, where face coverings are needed on ski lifts and what is required for entry to bars and restaurants. The hub will also give information on what test centres are available in which resorts.

Joe Ponte, CEO of Inghams, reported that bookings are already exceeding pre-pandemic levels, up 35 per cent on this time two years ago — with 63 per cent of customers new to Inghams, echoing the findings released by Club Med earlier this week that winter 2021/22 will be a strong one for first-time skiers.

Ponte said: “We’re delighted to see such strong booking numbers as we head into winter, and we want to make the return to skiing as safe and simple for our customers as possible, which is why we’ve launched the COVID-19 Online Hub and continue to upkeep our In Safe Hands promise [which provides comprehensive financial protection for consumers booking with the operator].

“We hope that these resources along with the incredible chalets, hotels and apartments we have on offer this year will welcome customers back to the mountains feeling reassured and ready to ski, which is what we’ve all been waiting for.”
