Inghams has added 10 new ski resorts to its offering this winter — including one in Austria that is dedicated to people learning to ski and snowboard.

Oberperfuss, just above Innsbruck in Austria, is the new “Learn to Ski / Snowboard” resort and spearheads the new offerings from Inghams which this year celebrates its 80th anniversary of running UK wintersports holidays.

The other new resorts in Inghams’s 2014/15 season brochure, launched on 1 August, are St Johann, Scheffau (Austria), Kranjska Gora (Slovenia), Arosa/Lenzerheide (Switzerland), La Rosière (France/Italy), Kronplatz and San Cassiano (Italy) and Park City / Deer Valley in Utah (USA).

As well as a “Learn to Ski” packages, Inghams has launched “Welcome Back” packages for those returning to the slopes after missing a few seasons due to the recession as well as “Ski Again” packages, in conjunction with the Austrian National Tourist Office, for those who have missed five years or more. There are also special offers for “Skiers in their 60s” to make the most of significant lift-pass savings at some resorts — such as €10 for a six-day pass in Les Arcs and La Plagne.

The fact that Inghams now has 91 ski resorts in the new brochure signals a growing confidence in Brits returning to winter sports.

“We saw the first signs last winter of a recovery in the ski market and as the economy continues to gather pace in our 80th birthday year, we’re looking forward to seeing a resurgence in the beginners market and welcome back many of our guests who may have been forced to put their ski holiday plans on hold in recent years,” said Hugh Walton, Inghams executive director.
