Popstar Mariah Carey will sing out Ischgl’s winter season at the Top of the Mountain Concert in April.

In another successful sign-up for Ischgl, Carey will perform live at Idalp (the mid-mountain station) in the Austrian resort on Monday 30 April. The superstar singer joins a long list of pop idols and legends that have performed on the mountain as part of the end-of-season celebrations. Last year it was The Killers.

Carey is one of the best-selling female pop artists of all time, so Ischgl’s concert organisers are pleased as punch to have her perform her greatest hits in front of a ski crowd of 20,000. What’s more, the concert is Carey’s only European gig planned this year.

Tourist Office Director Andreas Steibl said, “It doesn’t get much better than this. We are proud and excited to announce this exceptional star for the closing concert of this exceptional winter season. Mariah Carey has a distinctive and powerful voice, which is perfect for the Top Of The Mountain concert.”

With 18 number one singles to her credit and a host more top records, there are sure to be a good number of familiar tunes in the Ischgl set. And Carey will be taking the crowd on a journey back through her musical history – which spans 20 years. Remember Hero, Heartbreaker, Touch My Body?

As usual, entrance to the concert is free with a lift pass. A one-day pass costs 95 euros; two-day is 125 euros.

Special accommodation and skipass packages are available via www.ischgl.com which has an accommodation search facility. For example, four nights’ accommodation with breakfast, plus four day skipass is available from 272 euros per person.

The nearest airports to Ischgl are Innsbruck (BA; easyJet), Munich (BA; Lufthansa) and Zurich (BA; Swiss).

Ischgl’s last day of the season is Tuesday 1 May. And it looks as if snow conditions will be super all the way …
