Ischgl to close with Keys gig

Paznauner Thaya - Friday 29 May 2010
Ischgl is all set to close out the 2009/10 winter season with the Top of the Mountain concert on Saturday 1 May.
This year Alicia Keys will entertain the crowds at Idalp, performing such hits as ‘Empire State of Mind’. The concert will begin at 1pm on the huge Idalp open-air stage. The Keys gig is the second top female act to appear in the Austrian resort this winter, following the season-opening performance by Katy Perry – although there are regular big-name pop concerts at the resort’s various clubs during the season.
A lot of solo female artists have been keen to front the legendary concerts recently, performing to different musical tastes; whoever plays though usually generates huge crowds – and it’s all in a great atmosphere. It’s sure to be a great afternoon on the mountain for anyone heading up there for the Bank Holiday weekend.
The Top of the Mountain concert is again free to lift pass holders, and there is still ample skiing up at Idalp. There has not been any new snow for a fortnight, but most lifts are still open and with lovely spring conditions on the pistes. And as you’ll note from the webcam shot above, there is also plenty of après-ski going on up the mountain still too: this is Paznauner Thaya.
