Italian ski resorts may re-open 15 Feb

Some ski resorts in Italy – including Cortina d'Ampezzo (above) – may open next week
Ski resorts in some areas of Italy are likely to open from next Monday, 15 February.
Although the Italian government has not yet formally announced the re-opening, the country’s media is reporting that ski areas in so-called “yellow zones”, dictated by its Technical Scientific Committee (CTS), will be allowed to open under the latest system of tiered coronavirus restrictions.
As of today, Monday 8 February, 15 of Italy’s 20 regions are designated yellow zones, with the remainder in orange and red zones — where ski resorts are expected to remain closed.
At present, it is unclear as to whether skiers will be permitted to travel from an orange or red zone to ski in resort that falls within a yellow zone — until 15 February a ban remains in place on non-essential travel between any regions within Italy.
“The CTS has given a good signal which,” said Luca Zaia, president of the Veneto region. “But the virus is still circulating and should not be underestimated.”
