We reported on Monday 8 May that Inghams owner Hotelplan UK was in talks to buy out another major ski group.

It’s now official: Hotelplan UK, the parent company of Inghams and Inntravel (walking and cycling), has announced the acquisition of the Enigma Travel Group – comprising Total Ski and Esprit Ski.

The Chairman of Hotelplan UK, Mr Hans Lerch said: ‘We will now be able to move forward on Ski with Enigma’s strength in the family and chalet sectors perfectly complementing Inghams’ strength in hotels and apartments. We will of course continue to operate under all these three well respected and highly differentiated brand names.’

Enigma Travel Group’s Managing Director, Andy Perrin, becomes Group CEO of Hotelplan UK. He brings 29 years experience in specialist travel and the ski sector, and has been with Enigma since 2002. Enigma Chairman and founder Peter Dyer becomes Vice Chairman of Hotelplan UK. He will continue to lead the team at Esprit and Ski Total from their offices in Fleet, Hampshire.

Esprit has been established for 28 years. The firm operates Esprit Ski, the UK’s market-leading family ski specialist, Esprit Santa’s Lapland and Esprit Family Adventures. Ski Total has also been operating since 1982 as specialists in quality catered chalets and chalet hotels.

Inghams was established 75 years ago. As well as its ski and ski luxury divisions, the tour operator offers Lakes and Mountains, Inghams Villas and Just France holidays.
