It’s not just Austria that plays out the season with an open-air concert on the slopes, Grindelwald’s music festival, SnowpenAir, takes place in April – and this season’s headline acts will be Kool and the Gang and James Blunt.

Keen skier Blunt will perform his best hits at 2060m on Kleine Scheidegg, on Saturday 9 April, along with groovy US funk group Kool and the Gang. Blunt will be promoting his new album ‘Some Kind of Trouble’. And you can ‘Cherish’ the snow or ‘Get down on it’ with Kool and the Gang’s popular 80’s hits.

Other stars set to get you dancing in your ski boots, include a German rock group and aprés-ski DJ Alex the Ski-Hut King.

The Snowpen Air concert and party weekend is in its 14th year and is Grindelwald’s headline event to close out the winter season. Tickets are in short supply … Jungfrau Railways says 2000 left (6500 already sold!).

Combined lift and concert tickets for the Saturday gigs cost 125 CHF per person.
