Katy Perry to play Ischgl

9th September 2009, by Chris Gill

Another chart-topping pop star will be hot-footing-it down to Ischgl in November, to launch the 2009/10 winter season.

US talent Katy Perry will perform at the Austrian resort’s season-opening concert on Saturday 28 November, following the many other top acts that have played in the resort over the years - including Gabriella Cilmi (last year), Rihanna, The Corrs, Lionel Richie, Ronan Keating and the Pussycat Dolls.

Perry, 24, was born in California to a Christian pastor family - where Gospel music was a strong influence. Her first hit as a pop act was ‘Ur So Gay’ in 2007. More recent hits have included ‘I Kissed a Girl’ and ‘Hot N Cold’. Entrance to the concert, which gets going at 6pm, will be by valid lift pass.

Ischgl’s ski season officially starts on Friday 27 November, and three-night packages (including a lift pass) are available from 249 euros per person. Innsbruck is the nearest airport.
