The ski resort of Kitzbühel in the Austrian Tyrol will stay open until 1 May. Kitzbühel traditionally has one of the longest seasons in Europe and will yet again be one of the first non-glacial resort in the Alps to open next winter — on 21 October.

Kitzbühel sits in the Kitzbühel Alps, and is a former silver-mining town at an altitude of 760m. The resort has 215km of pistes, extending to 2,000m. Some 119km of its runs are covered by artificial snow, which boosts its lengthy season. This year an extra 55 snow-making machines and 9km of snow-making pipes were added up to the mid-station on Kitzbühler Horn.

Details of which lifts and pistes are open are updated here daily.

Kitzbühel’s new website kitzski.uk dedicated entirely to British skiers and snowboarders offers a range of deals including 10 per cent off lift passes and 10 per cent off ski rental when you book specific accommodation.

From 14-17 April, take advantage of Kitzbühel’s special Easter package. Three nights in a hotel, a cookery experience baking traditional Tyrolean “Kitzbüheler Oster Pinzn” Easter pastries in an original wood-fired oven, a traditional Easter brunch and a one-day ski pass — starting from €265pp. (link to offer)
