Chamonix opens the first La Folie Douce Hotel

La Folie Douce, the world renowned après ski bar and restaurant chain has recently confirmed that they will open their first hotel in Chamonix.

The Chamonix La Folie Douce Hotel is set to open in December 2018, and will be located at the site of the former Club Med Chamonix. The hotel aims to cater for groups, partygoers and families alike.

The hotel will feature 250 rooms and guests will have the option of 2 different types of accommodation: 3 star ‘access’ rooms with 2, 4 or 6 beds aimed at friends and families, and the 4 star ‘premium’ space with luxury services ranging from double to large lofts.

The ski-in ski-out hotel will be accessible to the main Plan Praz and on to the Brévent and Flégère ski areas via a nearby draglift. The hotel will also offer a varied selection of restaurants to accommodate the varied guest’s requirements, including the signature La Fruitiere serving tradition French gourmet food. The hotel will also feature a swimming pool, ski hire shop, spa, kids club, bar and open nightclub.

There are currently five La Folie Douce bars in the French Alps, located in Val d’Isere-Tignes, Val Thorens, Meribel-Courchevel, St Gervais-Megeve and Alpe d’Huez. The Folie Douce Hotel plans to expand into other resorts, inclusing Serre Chevalier for 2021.
