New ski area to open in the French resort of La Roisere

Located at 1,850m within the Tarentaise Valley, in the French Alps, La Rosière is a charming ski resort which has the additional benefit of links to La Thuile in Italy.

La Rosière benefits from favourable weather conditions which guarantees an excellent snowfall from mid-December until end of April and makes it the resort with the highest snowfall in France, over the last winter season la Rosière accumulated more than 11m of snow.

New for the 2018/19 winter season, the La Rosière ski area will open a new sector known as The Mont Valaisan, which will be located to the right of the Redoute Ruinée Fort on the French side of the ski area. The Mont Valaisan will boast five new red slopes which will be serviced by two six-person chairlifts; the Moulins and the Mont-Valaisan. The expansion, which has cost 15 million euros, will offer a more technical ski area with additional freeride opportunities.

Also new for winter 2018/19, La Rosière has increased the number of beds in the resort with the introduction of a Hyatt Centric, which boasts sixty nine spacious rooms, stunning mountain views, a beautiful spa and a restaurant. In addition, the four star hotel, The Alparena, will open its doors soon, with an offering of fifty eight rooms, suites and apartment suites (from 25 to 110m²), a wellness area, an aquafun area of 1000m2 with a 15m swimming pool, paddling pool, spas, steam rooms, saunas, one fitness room, four beauty treatment rooms and a restaurant with a panoramic terrace.

The Chalet l’Aiglon remains the only guest house in la Rosière. It can welcome up to fourteen people within its luxury bedrooms, which are all south/south-east facing. The chalet is also equipped with a steam room and a hot tub with a panoramic view over the valley.

Visitors to La Rosière are also able to sample a few unique experiences, including First Tracks VIP, where approx 40 €  early risers will be taken up the mountain between 7.30 & 9am. The slopes are reserved for a maximum of sixteen guests who are looked after by La Rosière’s instructors, ski patrollers & resort managers who will share their experiences and knowledge of the mountain. Also not to be missed is the Panoramic Experience, which is a walkway at the summit of the Fort Express chairlift and offers breath-taking views of the Mont Blanc whilst standing above a clear drop of several dozen meters.

The resort will open on 15th December 2018 and is due to close on the 26th April 2019.
