Lego to launch ski resort set

Just in time to go on everyone’s Christmas lists, Lego is launching what is believed to be its first full ski resort this September.
The Lego City play set Ski Resort, aimed at children aged six and above, will contain more than 800 pieces centred around a base resort and including a two-storey ski patrol office, halfpipe, snowmobile (with a bloodwagon trailer), ski shop, small helicopter and all-wheel-drive car.
There will also be around a dozen mini ski- and snowboard-themed figures including ski patrollers and a snowman. Accessories include four pairs of skis, three pairs of ski poles, four snowboards, two ice axes, snowshoes, a helmet with ski goggles, and a stretcher.
Lego already produces a number of stand-alone Lego City kits including a piste-basher and ski lift.
The set goes on sale on 1 September with an RRP of £74.99.
