Les 2 Alpes in France is installing four new ski lifts and reconfiguring several ski runs for the coming winter. The ski resort — which estimates it has 10,000 visitors each day — says the reconfiguration will enable it to “adjust the flow of skiers on the runs and ski lifts, whilst directing clients to areas they’re not used to going to”.

A new eight-seater gondola called Pierre Grosse will link the La Fée sector (2221m) to the glacier (3175m) to encourage skiers to use a sector that has previously not been often used. A new eight-man chairlift is replacing the current four-man on the Les Crêtes sector, speeding up the flow of skiers and snowboarders to 3,200 people per hour.

A quad at Le Thuit will replace the former three-man chairlift, again providing a faster connection up to the Les Crêtes sector and the Super Venosc fixed chairlift is being realigned over a shorter and faster route.

Les 2 Alpes will open this winter from 30 November through until 25 April 2020 — conditions dependent.
