Erna Low Property has unveiled plans for a year-round development at Les Arcs, Edenarc 1800.

All about Eden

The Edenarc 1800 ski-in/ski-out residences will be built near the golf course area above Arc 1800, the upper part of the resort. Its position will give great views across the slopes and make the residences super-convenient for dedicated slope fans; lifts depart close by and 1800 is one of the larger, more established Les Arcs bases.

The project includes 252 apartments, split into two main buildings. A third building is planned as a hotel, also featuring 40 two-bedroom apartments. Design-wise, the plan is for contemporary wood and glass construction, with large windows on to the slopes and an attractive pedestrian centre.

In keeping with similar constructions, Edenarc 1800 will offer owners and visitors 4-star equipped lodging and services, plus a leisure area. Outside there will be sunny terraces that overlook the resort and valley. Other facilities will include a children’s club and conference room. Odalys Vacances will manage the development.

The birth

The project to develop a 4-star mini-resort above Arc 1800 was introduced a few seasons ago, and will now go ahead under the Sotarbat 360 banner – set up by two mountain developers, one of whom established Intrawest Europe and the Arc 1950 project.

Work to construct Edenarc 1800 is due to begin in 2010, with properties available on a leaseback scheme. Owners receive two free weeks use of their apartments each year, and attractive rental returns. Prices start at £171,800 for a one-bedroom apartment.
