Livigno launches family-tempting offers

Livigno has launched a range of tempting offers for families this season
The family-friendly ski resort of Livigno, located in Lombardy between Switzerland and Italy, is offering some superb deals this season to draw skiers to its sunny slopes.
Known locally as “The Little Tibet”, Livigno nestles between two national parks 1,816m above sea level in a valley that stretches for 23km between two mountain fronts. The ski area is set over six different mountainsides, with 12 blacks, 37 reds and 29 blue runs — 80 per cent of which are covered by snow guns.
Within its 115km of pistes Livigno has a skiing area that is great for children — but this season the resort are some extra special offers to tempt families to the duty-free resort.
Children under seven can ski for free over the whole area when accompanied by a paying adult. Any family of four with two adults and two children born between 1998 and 2005, who buy three ski passes will get the fourth completely free throughout the entire season.
In addition, the resort is running three “Family Week — Kids Go Free” events through the season, the first of which starts this weekend. From 18-25 January, 22-29 March and 29 March to 5 April, any child under 12 accompanied by two paying adults goes completely free of charge, while every other child under 12 years goes for half price. This isn’t just about ski passes — the offer covers everything from accommodation (in all accredited accommodation) to ski rental, ski passes and ski schools. It also gives free entry to one child when accompanied by two adults to the Aquagranda wellness and swimming pool complex and a special offer on the new transfer service offered by Livigno this year.
And finally — Livigno is offering a second “Skipass Free” period this winter, during which skiers get a free ski pass when they stay a minimum of four nights in a hotel or seven nights in an apartment in accredited accommodation. The first Skipass Free period ran from 1 to 20 December, and the second runs from 5 April to 1 May.
The biggest ski resort in Lombardy, Livigno has a range of 105 hotels, 25 bed and breakfast lodges and more than 1,000 apartments to choose from. The resort represents exceptional value for money —even without the special offers on ski passes — and offers some 250 duty free shops within the old, traditional town. The resort has preserved its environmental, natural and architectural characteristics, and says it offers holidays “closer to nature”, set between the Stelvio National Park and the Swiss National Park.
The closest airports to Livigno are Innsbruck (just under three hours), Bergamo (four hours) and Milan (four and a half hours), and a new transfer service introduced this season makes getting to the ski resort easier ever. Skiers landing in Milan (Malpensa or Linate) or Bergamo airport in Italy, or Innsbruck in Austria, can pre-book a transfer with the Livigno Express from £75 return per adult and £60 return per child (aged up to 12).
