Another “poshtel” has opened in the Alps offering yet more affordable accommodation for this winter.

Rude Lodge in Morzine opened last Friday, 12 December, following a £1.2million overhaul of Le Laury’s hotel and Paradis nightclub. Prices in the Lodge — which has 40 beds in twin or dorm rooms — start from only £28 per night.

The old hotel has been upgraded to appeal to the uber-stylish, and offers free wifi throughout as well as a music and media centre with camera picture and video upload facilities.

Each of the bedrooms are en-suite, and towels and linen are provided; though meals (available on site in the Rude Café) are extra. Residents also get free entry into the Le Paradis nightclub — into which a new Pioneer Club sound system has been installed and a roster of progressive Ibiza resident DJs expertly programmed by Mark Broadbent of We Love Space on Sunday.

Last month, the world’s first hostel with its own spa opened in Saas-Fee and the three-star Hotel Montpelier has also reopened in Verbier in a drive to make skiing and snowboarding holiday more affordable.
