At last — some fantastic news for skiers and snowboarders… Covid permitting, the London Ski & Snowboard Festival is back this autumn, promising all the goodies we love at Battersea Park from 28-31 October.

Set to be the UK’s finest snow sports exhibition, with representations from ski resorts around the world, attended by 18,0000 visitors and 120 exhibitors — it will run both day and night with something for all. There will be high-energy après-ski bands, ski and boot fitting and testing, competitions (including a spectacular ski jump on a 140ft jump) and lessons for kids. On top of all of this there will be a ‘cook off’ and street food and bars, as well as tobogganing by torchlit.

The GB winter sports team will be there, demonstrating what they do for a living and answering questions about how they got there and what it takes to train day in, day out to be the best.

Basically, it sounds like a complete treat after a year of lockdown and the dreadful loss of a ski season — something most of us thought we would never see in our lifetimes and hope we’ll never see again.

Previously run by the Telegraph Events Group, this year the London Ski & Snowboard Festival — timed to coincide with UK school half terms — will be run by Smart Group, a hospitality, catering and event management business with more than 20 years’ experience running superb, experiential events.

The Festival is partnering with Snow-Camp, a charity that strives to give young people from inner-city communities the chance for positive futures through snowsports.

Chloe Jackson, managing director of Smart Group said: “As a group of ski and snowboard enthusiasts, we have worked hard to combine a perfect balance of engaging retail and exhibition space, alongside the high octane après atmosphere, ensuring guests are truly transported to the mountains for the day.”

Tickets start from a mere £5. For more information, visit www.londonskiandsnowboard.co.uk
