Monarch is flying from Manchester to Munich — only 1hr 30 min from Kitzbühel

Skiers and boarders living near Cardiff and Manchester will benefit from new flight routes this winter.

Flybe is adding four brand new flight routes out of Cardiff Airport to Chambery, Geneva, Grenoble and Lyon. The routes will operate between 21 December 2013, and April 2014, with one-way fares starting from £34.99 (including taxes).

Monarch has announced a new route for this season from Manchester to Munich, perfect for ski resorts such as Kitzbühel, Söll, Mayrhofen, Ellmau and Kaprun. One-way fares to Munich start from £39.99, and if you book before 31 December ski carriage is free.

Monarch is also offering free ski and snowboard carriage on selected flights from Birmingham, Manchester, Luton and Gatwick to Grenoble, Friedrichshafen, Munich and Innsbruck when you book before 31 December, on all travel until 30 April 2014.

Other winter flight routes announced earlier this year include Gatwick to Geneva with Swiss, and 13 new regional routes with Thomson.
