Ischgl continues to pull in the big names for its Top of the Mountain concerts — with rock band Muse now booked to close the 2015-16 ski season.

The Austrian party resort is famous for its big-name concerts at 2300m that open and close each ski season — two years ago Robbie Williams played out the closing day when WTSS was lucky enough to attend (read about it here).

This year, Muse will play an open-air lunchtime concert on a stage at the top of the mountain on Saturday 30 April, the penultimate day of Ischgl’s five-month season. The news comes hot on the heels of the British Band’s second Grammy award for best rock album and the usual crowd of up to 20,000 skiers and snowboarders is expected.

Concert admission is included in the €95 (around £75) ski pass price for the day – compared with the regular day pass price of €46.50 – but regular rates apply for four day passes and more.

As well as Robbie Williams, Ischgl’s impressive Hall of Fame for Top Of The Mountain concerts include Elton John, James Blunt, Rihanna and – most recently – The Beach Boys, who opened this successful winter season at the end of last November.
