New BA Southampton-Chambéry flight

British Airways will fly to Chambéry to Southampton weekly from mid December

British Airways is launching a new route to the mountains from Southampton Airport to Chambéry this winter.

The flights will start on 18 December and run weekly until 17 April. The outbound is every Saturday morning at 07:15, return flights running from Chambéry to Southampton every Sunday. The route replaces a similar one from Stansted which has been pulled. British Airways also flies from London City to Chambéry over the ski season.

Prices start from £152 return with bags (no ski carriage).

Chambéry opens up shorter transfer times to many French ski resorts including the Isére valley, Tarentaise and Serre Chevalier.

Steve Szalay, Operations Director at Southampton Airport, said: “It is great to see British Airways add the Chambéry route to Southampton Airport.

“With the successful rollout of vaccinations across Europe there will be high demand for ski trips for our passengers.
