French ski resort Val Thorens upgrades with two new six-pack chairlifts

We have already reported on the huge improvements in the major French ski resorts of Val d’Isère and Alpe d’Huez, as well as the new chairlift in La Plagne from Plagne Montalbert to Aime 2000 in the heart of the ski area.

Other French resorts are upgrading, too. In Val Thorens, there will be two new six-packs. One will replace the quad Boismint chair which serves good (and often relatively quiet) pistes close to the Les Menuires sector. The other will replace the short Roc draglift on the nursery slopes at village level.

In Chamonix, the slow Parsa quad chair, which serves easy blue and green runs at mid-mountain on Le Brévent, is being replaced by a fast six-pack. This will have a capacity of nearly 3,000 people per hour compared with the 1,800 an hour of the old lift. The two drag lifts serving the same area will be replaced by one modern draglift.
