New family fun for La Rosière

La Rosiere's sunny slopes are perfect for family ski holidays
The French ski resort of La Rosière has become even more family-friendly this season, with new developments including a 1km “Fun Cross track” and an extensive spa.
Tour operator Peak Retreats specialises in self-catering apartments and chalets in France and has seven properties available in La Rosière. Four of these have indoor pools and most also have spa facilities or saunas.
La Rosière shares its 160km San Bernardo ski area with La Thuile in Italy. It has long been known for family-friendly skiing on its sunny, south-facing slopes — eight of which are green and 25 of which are blues, perfect for beginners and children.
The “Fun Cross du Petit San Bernard” which runs from below Le Roc Noir beneath the Plan du Repos Express chairlift has been designed for families to enjoy, with modules, gongs and tunnels, themed with the famous La Rosière Saint Bernard mascot.
The new AltiSpa La Rosière includes a panoramic sauna, whirlpool and a Japanese sauna — with a range of offerings including salt therapy, an extensive range of massages and aquabiking.
Key events this season for families to enjoy include the “Mardi Gras” masked carnival on 13 February, the Freeride Junior Tour ski competition (for children aged 14 – 17) on 17 March; and the family-friendly Musifoliz festival which features music on the slopes and around town from 8 to 12 April.
