The Kitzbühel ski area is to have a new six-pack for the start of this winter.

Actually, the swanky new lift, with heated seats and covers is being constructed at the far end of the region –  in the Resterhöhe sector. It replaces the old chairlift out of Pass Thurn and the Moseralm T-bar above it.

The lift is an alternative up to Resterhöhe from the valley, other than taking the gondola a bit further along the road. Or, of course, you can head that way from Jochberg and Kitzbühel – linked to Jochberg’s slopes via the impressive 3S gondola.

There has been quite a bit of investment in the Kitzbühel ski area recently: last season it was Kirchberg at the opposite end to Resterhöhe, which gained a new gondola and eight-seat chair. So, now the slopes are pretty well linked by fast lifts.

Conditions permitting, the season is due to start in Resterhöhe on 30 October, with the remainder of the ski area opening by 4 December.
