New lifts and pistes in Three Valleys

New this year in Val Thorens: a red run called Chasse and a luxury hotel
It’s all change in the Three Valleys this winter, with new pistes, lifts and hotels in almost all of the resorts.
In Val Thorens, a new red piste called Chasse, in the Plein Sud sector, continuing the Pluviomètre run all the way to Boulevard Cumin. The new run allows doorstep skiing access to the Alpine chalet and restaurant Chez Pépé Nicolas. Plus the new luxury hotel Pashmina opens in December (which we reported in July).
The main lift out of St Martin de Belleville, called St Martin, has been updated for this season with a six-person chair.
In Les Menuires, a new fast quad will replace the double chair going towards the main resort from Le Bettex, and in the centre a new green piste called Montagnettes has been marked out for beginners.
A new sledging area is being created in Méribel, and in Mottaret, the Combes quad will be replaced with a two-stage six-pack, with an added mid station that allows beginners to access the Himalaya “Zen” beginner area. The lift will also have magnets for children wearing a special bib, for added safety.
In Courchevel, a new four-star, 26-bedroom hotel, White 1921, opens in the centre of 1850 directly onto the Croisette, and Aquamotion, the long-awaited aquatic centre will open in time for the start of the ski season.
Finally, as we reported in June, the Alpine Legends lift pass, new for this season, covers nine resorts in the Tarantaise, including the Three Valleys, Val d’Isere, La Plagne and Les Arcs, at a cost of €340 (about £252) for six days, €390 (about £290) for seven days and €440 (about £326) for eight days.
