Skiing in a group can work out well — if you are like-minded people

A new website has been set up unite keen skiers looking to share a chalet with like-minded groups.

The site, chalet-share.co.uk, offers to put individuals, small groups and families together with like-minded skiers in chalets across the Alps. The site was set up by skier Katie Mann and her husband — who had the idea on a chairlift while trying to work out where to go next with their two young children.

“We didn’t want to take the chance of another bad experience sharing a catered chalet with complete strangers or totally mismatched group,” said Katie, who has worked in the ski industry for years, including for VIP and Skiworld.

“This is a great way to take the risk out of sharing and its gives you the back the opportunity to spend your ski holidays in a lovely catered Alpine chalet rather than a basic apartment.”

Skiers register for free with chalet-share.co.uk, submit their details — including resort preferences and dates — and are automatically offered the chance to join a group with similar dynamics and interests.

chalet-share.co.uk will also help to source quality catered chalets for the united groups.
