New Ski Explorer App released

The Ski Explorer App will make it easier for skiers to meet friends on the mountain
Crystal Ski Holidays will next week release an updated and improved version of its popular Ski Explorer App which will allow skiers to plan their days on the mountain before they step foot outside their hotel or chalet.
The new version of the Ski Explorer App (4.0) offers real-time lift and slope information, a route planner to help skiers and snowboarders get from A to B (handy for pointing out the fastest routes home at the end of the day), as well as mountain and resort points of interest which will be of particular interest to families. The app also allows skiers to track their routes on the piste maps, perfect for studying over the all-important aprés-ski beer.
Ski Explorer App 3.0 was released in December 2015 and has proved immensely popular with skiers — nearly 100,000 people downloaded it last year. The app is free and not just for Crystal clients, it can be used by anyone. As well as the new features, Ski Explorer App 4.0 will retain all the popular features including piste and resort maps, six-day snow and weather forecasts, friend tracking and, for Crystal customers, holiday itinerary. Information is uploaded by Crystal’s expert on-the-ground teams.
Crystal Ski Holidays managing director Chris Logan said: “App users can play their ski days in advance, even before they travel. They can receive notifications from the resort team, access snow and weather forecasts, and once they’re on the mountain, they can get live lift info, ski tracking that maps out their travels and friend-finder technology.”

* Crystal Ski Holidays are about to launch their 2018/19 winter holiday brochure with a host of offers including two-for-one lift pass offers in Canada, £100 off childcare and free child places. The brochure will include ski and snowboard holidays in more than 130 resorts over 13 countries in Europe and North America, with departures from 21 different UK airports, numerous ferry points as well as St Pancras and Ashford stations.
