New ski lift for St Martin de Belleville

The St Martin 2 quad be replaced by a covered, six-man chair next winter
A queue-prone lift in St Martin de Belleville is to be replaced before next winter, much to the joy of Three Valley skiers.
The main lift out of St Martin, in the Three Valleys, is an eight-person gondola that takes skiers halfway up the mountain, where they transfer on to St Martin 2. Although this is a fast quad chair, queues often build here, especially during busy periods after lunch.
The ski resort has announced this month that St Martin 2 will be replaced by a six-person chair before the start of next winter.
Helen Raemers, owner of The Alpine Club, which operates luxury gourmet chalets in St Martin de Belleville, spied the news last week.
She told us: “The new lift is fabulous news for St Martin de Belleville and our guests. On a January morning the new covered chair will whisk you up the mountain quickly and in comfort. For the restaurants in the village it is also great news as more people will come down to the village and enjoy the great restaurants, knowing it will be easier to get back up the mountain again.”
