Pila in Italy’s Aosta Valley has a new ski school this season, formed as a split from the main Pila Ski School.

The idea behind the new school, known as ‘Evolution’ or ‘EvoPila’ is that it can offer new teaching methods and allow instructors work with clients in a more dynamic way, approaching classes to suit the client’s needs more. And the bunch of youthful instructors is aiming to appeal to younger people too.

Most disciplines will be available, from snowboarding to telemark and from freestyle to freeriding. Instructors will also be on hand to offer tips and advice to terrain park users, and those wanting to explore off-piste.

The school also aims to be competitive on price too. The head of Evolution is Ivan Cottino, who is pleased with the new concept and availability of a dedicated team of instructors. Private lessons start at 35 euros, and group classes start at 135 euros for five days; this includes video and an end of week race. Group sizes range from five to 12 as a maximum number. The school also offers a multi-sport class that includes two hours of each of skiing and snowboarding, plus a day on telemark skis.

As well as a shop, Evolution has a big red booking ‘igloo’ for prominence.
